A very special lady named Joyce knits up these creatures for our brick and mortar shop. She started making these for my kids, and they instantly translated to sheer joy. I knew they would be perfect for the shop, and for the kids in our neighborhood. She graciously lets us sell them in the store, I love to imagine her watching Korean soap operas while knitting these up. Filled with love and laughter they make very special gifts.
Our Mother’s Day menu was just hatched, most everything will be done on the grill! Burgers on brioche buns, asparagus, some kind of slamming berry pie. My mom’s presence always mandates some kind of mayonnaise salad whether it be macaroni, egg or potato. Then feet up for all of us. Looking forward to hanging hard with the mama’s in my family.
Are you ready? Of course hugs and good talks are all Mom really needs, but if you’re looking to take it further here are a few suggestions:
Elizabeth Street Lipgloss $23.00 Created by one of our favorite neighborhood mom’s and named after Noe Valley streets. A little bit of this lipgloss goes a very long way.
Tom Selleck Pillow $32.00 This pillow was inspired by the one and only Donna “La Bamba” Rodgers. Drawn perfectly by Adele Mildred.
Fig and Yarrow Milk bath $32.00 for those Calgon take me away moments. As a mother of two kids under age five, I’ve only heard about those moments. Hardy har har.
Modaspia is one of the few other brands we stock in our shop. Ursula has long been an inspiration to me, both as a business woman and a mother. She lives in the Sierra’s and makes her living making gorgeous dresses that are worn all over the world. She lives on her own terms, and she’s worked damn hard for it. Oh and she wakes up at 4:30 am! Man alive. Watch her etsy handmade portrait for a glimpse inside her beautiful story, and prepare to fall in love as I have.
